Welcome to Alonim
Pre-school Nursery
Providing a safe, caring & nurturing nursery environment for children aged 2 years & over
LOOKING FOR AN OUTSTANDING NURSERY IN NORTH LONDON?
Alonim’s mission is to create a dynamic, engaging, inclusive, child-centred community characterised by developmentally appropriate learning, inquiry-based exploration, scientific investigation, genuine diversity, and consistent respect. We value the uniqueness of each individual child and work with all children’s faiths and cultures.
We view children as powerful individuals. We respect children for who they are now, as well as for their potential. We provide open-ended materials which invite and cultivate thinking, collaboration and representation of ideas. Learning is embedded in all aspects of our day through meaningful experiences and opportunities for hands-on and minds-on engagement.

WHAT SETS US APART
ETHOS & VALUES
AT ALONIM
We are a Reform Jewish nursery (part of Sha’arei Tsedek North London Reform Synagogue) that celebrates all faiths and none.
We will celebrate your festivals and all the Jewish festivals through stories, music, drama, creativity and cookery. We offer an immersive Jewish experience including a joyous weekly Kabbalat Shabbat (Welcoming the Sabbath) which Parents/Carers are invited to attend.
INCLUSION & LIFE
LONG LEARNING
We are open to all faiths and none and will ensure every child’s culture and religious persuasion is addressed. We follow the EYFS as set by the Department of Education and all of our staff are qualified in Early Years Foundation Stage. Guide for parents.
HEALTHY EATING
& WELLNESS
Awarded for our healthy early years approach (including lunch and healthy snacks). We believe in giving children a good, healthy start in life through nutrition and movement to help build emotional resilience and obtain maximum benefit from education. Find out more here.
OFSTED RATED GOOD
KIND WORDS FOR ALONIM PRE-SCHOOL
“If you are considering Alonim I would wholeheartedly say, go for it. The nursery caters for each individual and the staff truly love working with children. I would like to thank all the staff for looking after both my children and helping them grow into kind, thoughtful, daring and clever individuals, I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
– JESS COOPER (Parent)
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our teachers plan the daily curriculum around a theme, either Jewish or secular which normally lasts for one or two weeks. Within the themes, there is often the opportunity for interactive sessions with professionals from the community. Where appropriate we take the children on outings pertinent to the topic they are exploring, theatre or local places of interest.
We work within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage. During our planning sessions we ensure we address all the areas of the Foundation Stage. The planning is ‘child initiated’ and we take into account the needs of the individual by monitoring/recording their progress and planning accordingly. The Kindergarten therefore aims to meet a child’s individual needs.

MEET THE TEAM
Our dedicated teachers facilitate the learning process by actively listening to and observing the children.
